The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, will become the 45th destination on the flight map of the low-cost airline Flydubai. With the opening of this direction, the company will become an exclusive airline offering direct communication between the UAE and Tbilisi.
During his official visit to the UAE, Georgy Karbelashvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, called the planned start of Flydubai's activities in Georgia an important milestone in the development of relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Gate Al Gate, the head of Flydubai, “the inclusion of Tbilisi in the company's flight network is a significant moment in the development of the airline’s direct transportation system, which is designed to make flights between the UAE and Eastern Europe more convenient and affordable."
At the moment, Flydubai has five routes that connect Dubai with the cities of the former USSR states: Yerevan, Baku, Ashgabat, Yekaterinburg and Samara.
Since September, the company began operating flights to Kazan, Ufa, Kiev, Kharkov and Donetsk. Flydubai’s flights to Tbilisi will begin on November 4, 2011 and will be operated twice a week. Flight FZ713 will depart from the second terminal of Dubai International Airport at 23.45 and arrive at Tbilisi Airport at 03.15. Return flight FZ714 departing at 04.00 will arrive in Dubai at 07.20.
A round-trip ticket in the direction Dubai - Tbilisi will cost from 990 dirhams (US $ 270). Tickets can be purchased online at flydubai.com, as well as at Flydubai representative offices.
