Music of the Prairies. Summer with Louis Vuitton

Youth culture of the 80s - again on the catwalks of the world. Marc Jacobs, designer of the 2006 Louis Vuitton Spring / Summer Collection, is calling for the road. The journey from east to west begins in Memphis, under the burning sun leads to the town of Santa Fe, and then to the bustling Las Vegas. Summer 2006 is an explosive mix of rock music, intoxicating freedom and travel.

Silk, cotton and linen dominate. Shades of beige and brown resonate with the color of the desert. Eye-catching embroideries resemble large semiprecious stones. Short dresses with a simple design in bright sunny colors (fuchsia, orange, red) are inspired by traditional Navajo clothing.

A woman dressed in this style exudes a special energy, becoming domineering and devilishly seductive. Short shorts and skirts do not hide her well-groomed slender legs. She is devoid of prejudice and boldly goes hunting at any time of the day. Her outfit is Louis Vuitton's finest: small jackets and patterned cotton skirts. The summer of 2006 promises to be hot. Maybe even fiery.
