The forty-year-old Queen Elizabeth 2 liner is undergoing the final restoration phase at the Rashid Port in Dubai.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 historic liner (QE2) is undergoing extensive restoration at the Rashid Port in Dubai. After completion of the restoration, the liner will operate as a floating hotel.

Recently, the first photos of the liner's interiors were published on social networks.

In particular, in the liner's Instagram account, photos of the updated cabins of the famous liner were posted.

According to the liner's website, this original first-class cabin has not changed much - just to expand the free space, several cabinets have been removed. On the lower deck of the ship’s cabins became smaller, perhaps in the future several rooms will be combined into one.

The rooms and suites of Queen Elizabeth 2 have been carefully restored according to modern technological trends, the interior design embodies the comfort, sophistication and elegance of antiquity, ”the company’s official statement emphasized.

It is worth noting that not only the exterior decoration, but also the vintage technique were restored. Also in the cabins were comfortable beds.

Instagram subscribers appreciated the updated appearance of the vessel.

Until the hotel managers announced the launch date, the amount spent on updating the ship was not disclosed. However, there is no doubt that huge investments were made in the project.

Last Thursday, QE2 made its final voyage to the port of Rashid, after which the final stage of restoration work will be carried out.

On Thursday, the managers posted a photo of people in the port holding the sign "welcome home QE2."

The managers said that the former flagship of the Cunard Line went through "deep cleaning and restoration of painting", now everything is ready for the final phase of the restoration of the ship. The liner engines were removed, and a new Queen Elizabeth 2 livery in Arabic and English was attached to the ship. At the stern of the liner flaunts a visible tourist logo of Dubai.

There will be 12 decks on board the ship, at the moment the final work is underway, after which the liner will work as a floating hotel, entertainment and cultural center.
