A virtual trap awaits visitors at a government summit in Dubai

The Crown Prince of Dubai invited social VR projects to the World Government Summit that impressed him in Davos.

On February 10, the World Government Summit opened in Dubai. World leaders and civil society representatives once again gathered in the emirate to discuss a number of issues, including those related to climate change and military conflicts.

Two activists - Militsa Zek and Winslow Porter - will defend the environment and the world with the help of their virtual reality projects "Tree" and "Giant". They will allow viewers to feel like a tree in the Amazon rainforest and a trapped participant in hostilities.

The Tree project premiered at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, which was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. According to Zek and Porter, Sheikh Hamdan got acquainted with the project and invited its authors to take part in the Dubai summit.

"Our goal is to present a personal approach to the problem of climate change. Thanks to experience in virtual reality, you will learn what it feels like to be a tree, and you will witness what people are doing with nature, so you can perceive this problem as your own," said one from the authors of the project, “We appeal to the hearts of the audience ... We want them to not only learn more about climate change, we want them to feel it.”
