Dubai bus drivers immersed in virtual reality

The training of passenger bus drivers in Dubai will take place in virtual reality.

The Dubai Public Transport Agency has launched the implementation of virtual reality technology (VR) in the process of training passenger transport drivers.

The agency was the first government agency in the Middle East to use technology in this area.

At the initial stage of introducing VR-technologies, the main focus is on the process of inspecting buses, said Abdullah Al-Mir of the Public Transport Agency. At the second stage, the agency will transfer virtual reality technology to basic and advanced training courses, as well as to the process of rehabilitation of drivers who have crashed and responding to consumer complaints.

With the help of a VR headset, drivers will be offered scenarios that recreate various climatic and road situations. This will help to hone your bus driving skills and prepare for difficult situations on the road.
