Lanvin pulls east

In April, the creative director of Lanvin, the legendary couturier Albert Elbaz, visited Dubai for the first time. His debut visit to the Middle East made a lot of noise in the city, where some of the most important clients of the House live. Elbaz brought along with him the Lanvin women's collection of the new autumn-winter 2015 season. The designer himself is from Morocco, which is probably why he was drawn to the East. In addition, as a homage to the House Museum, Jean Lanvin, the designer turned to his own story. Graphics, rich fabrics, archival prints, as well as fringe, feathers, leather and fur became the main elements of the new collection. During the show, the designer also introduced the new Lanvin Nomad bag line. But most importantly, Elbaz brought to the court of the local fashion elite exclusive works created only for the Middle East. Bravo!

Paul Smith x Art Dubai

For the first time, an exhibition of anonymous artists and photographers from the Royal College of Art RCA Secret Dubai arrived in Dubai. The London project was curated by an English designer, Sir Paul Smith, who, in turn, also added his own illustrations to a number of art objects. A thousand paintings the size of postcards were exhibited at Madinat Jumeirah as part of Art Dubai. Not a single work could be bought, knowing in advance the name of its author: the whole point was to invest in exactly what the buyer would like emotionally, and not in what everyone was talking about. Paul Smith is a big fan of Dubai, so we hope that we will meet with his work more than once.
