Dubai is going to organize and host the world exhibition "EXPO 2020", which will be the best in history. “We are fully confident that we will be able to organize an excellent event in 2020,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, head of the application committee of the candidate city.
His speech was held at a reception for officials of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (Bureau International des Expositions, BIE), which was held in March at the Armani Hotel, the world's tallest skyscraper, Burj Khalifa.
"During their visit to Dubai, BIE representatives met with people who make up the soul of the country, which has become home to people of more than 200 nationalities and hosts millions of tourists every year. They got the opportunity to feel the real spirit of Dubai," said Sheikh Ahmed.
It is worth recalling that Dubai is one of the five candidate cities that claim to host the world-wide exhibition Expo 2020. Especially for the construction of exhibition halls in the Jebel Ali area, a land plot of 438 hectares has been reserved.
